Did you know that Rocko was originally yellow?

The original color for Rocko in the pilot was yellow, and it was going to stay that way until
we were just about to ship our first episode of the series. Apparently, a major plush
toy maker wanted to license Rocko, but said they already had a yellow character, and
promised to make Rocko plushes if we changed the color. I fought it tooth and nail
arguing that Rocko was not toy driven, but in the end, a Nickelodeon executive pulled the
"We own it" card and forced us to change it. It was changed to a beige that I never liked.

A fitting end to this story? The plush toy company that forced us to change it, backed out
of its commitment later, without ever making a single Rocko toy.
